Napoli hero Edinson Cavani was ecstatic following the Azzurri's 2-0 victory over Roma in an extremely intense affair at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening.
The 23-year-old has been nothing short of sensational this season and it was his two goals tonight that handed the Partenopei their first victory in the Eternal City against the Giallorossi since 1994.
"I thank God for this super result. It was a good match and we deserved to win," the Uruguay striker told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
"We must continue to work hard. We have proven that we are a united squad that wants to fight for important objectives. I'm not thinking about the Scudetto, I'm just so happy right now."
Cavani went on to reveal the meaning of his 'golf club' celebration after netting his second goal of the encounter in the 83rd minute.
"I mimicked swinging a golf club after the goal to thank a friend of mine who had given me a gift. I also want to say happy birthday to my mother."
With the win Napoli kept pace with Milan and sit three points behind the league leaders in the Serie standings.
