Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has apologised to the fans for the 2-0 loss to Chievo on Wednesday evening.
The Partenopei have maintained a high standard of play in Serie A this season, sitting in second spot with 43 points, five behind league leaders Milan. However, they suffered an unexpected setback against the Flying Donkeys.
"I'm very sorry for the defeat in Verona, because if we intend to remain in the top positions, performances like yesterday cannot happen again," the 23-year-old said on his official website.
"We all have the desire to redeem ourselves immediately and against Cesena we want to give our fans a good day of football and three points."
Napoli have an away record of six wins, two draws, and four losses in 2010-11. Meanwhile, Hamsik's excellent performances over the last few months have seen him jump to 129th in the Castrol Rankings.
