Matteo Darmian Hails Palermo's Fighting Spirit In Win Over Juventus

Palermo's Matteo Darmian is satisfied with his performance in the win over Juventus.
Palermo defender Matteo Darmian believes that his display in the 2-1 victory over Juventus was one of the best of his career.

The 21-year-old entered the match in the 11th minute after Federico Balzaretti picked up a knock and often had to deal with the threat of Bianconeri winger Milos Krasic.

"I stopped Krasic with the help of my team-mates. He was certainly not an easy opponent to control," he explained Darmian told tuttojuve.com.

"My performance? My best here in Palermo after a few rounds of being injured. The important thing is that I was ready. When I entered the pitch I was very excited, playing in front of a team like Juventus.

"The secret of this victory? Our team spirit enabled us to overcome the critical phase [of the match]."

Darmian is a youth product of Milan, but is currently on a co-ownership deal at Palermo after finding too much competition for a place in defence at San Siro. He has featured for Italy at several youth levels.
