thumbnail Hello,

Edy Reja blamed nerves for Lazio’s disappointing defeat to Bologna.

As Lazio failed to reclaim second place following a 3-1 defeat to Bologna, coach Edy Reja looked to explain the end of game riot and also ruled out a potential departure of star man Mauro Zarate.

“We were provoked in the scuffle surrounding [Andre] Dias,” he declared to SkySport.

“In these situations we should have reacted better as the confusion only helped to serve Bologna late in the game.

“I don’t understand why the opposition all had it in for Dias. Having coached him for over a year now I can declare he is not a violent player.

“We were a little too nervy out there today. After having missed a couple of golden chances to double our lead the side lost there way a little.

“Things haven’t been going our way recently and we must try to stay united in a difficult moment.”

The coach was then probed as to the status of Zarate who is on the radar of a number of clubs just a week from the closure of the transfer market.

“Zarate will not be leaving Rome and I can confirm this 200 percent.

“I read an article in the GazzettadelloSport yesterday linking the boy to Juventus but I can declare that there is no truth to the story. I simply don’t know where such an idea sprung from.”
