Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia is set to make his first start for the club in Wednesday night's Coppa Italia clash versus Genoa, according to interistaweb.it.
After already being co-owned by the Nerazzurri, the Italian international made the €12.5 million switch from the Grifoni to San Siro just a couple weeks ago and made his debut in the 2-1 win over Catania coming on as a late substitute. However, he will play from the starting whistle against his former team-mates.
Cristian Chivu is suspended, meaning Davide Santon should slot in at left-back. Meanwhile, midfielders Thiago Motta and Dejan Stankovic have not been included in coach Leonardo's 21-man squad.
Leonardo has already said the Coppa Italia is an important objective for the club this season. The Milan-based outfit have won the tournament six times in their history, including the last edition as part of a sensational treble in 2010.
