Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone Brands Antonio Cassano A 'Delinquent'
Sampdoria's president once again took a swipe at Antonio Cassano, labelling the talented player 'a delinquent'...
Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone has seemingly once again affirmed his desire to get rid of striker Antonio Cassano as their feud continues. The club applied to have his contract rescinded, a matter that will go to arbitration, but it seems certain that whether the Blucerchiati are successful or not in that case, the player's time at the club is over.MORE

"Within 15 days will be the first meeting for the arbitration and I'm very sorry because if Cassano didn't have that temper, and if he was not a bit of a funny guy every now and then with no self control, then he could have been one of the greatest players in the world.
"With him, there was an optimal rapport. He only respected me at the club [until now], he had issues with the directors, the coaches, and so on. Maybe because he is a delinquent [uneducated], since he was 15 he was a petty criminal, he says it in his books.
"It's hard to understand why he can't control himself outside of the official matches. Last season, in the final 15 matches he wasn't even warned by the referee and played until the end. He is a brittle, complex character."
