Selling players in January is not on the agenda at Formello as Mauro Zarate stays at Lazio, according president Claudio Lotito.
Right across Europe reports prefigured Zarate was for sale - a claim Lotito denies.
He says selling the player is more apparent to speculation than reality.
"We are in November and I have not opened any discussions. We only want to buy not sell," Lotito told Il Corriere dello Sport when asked about Zarate's future.
Coach Edy Reja's future has also been questioned. But Lotito claims contracts are just a romantic prop.
"Edy Reja's renewal? Me and Reja don't need contracts because we are human, transparent gentlemen. We are not worried about a contract, we have an agreement already," he added.
On Lazio's story of tolerance and intolerance in the league Lotito said: "The positions depend on us. I always hope the team plays with spirit, humility and sacrifice."
