After watching her Roma side return to winning ways with a much needed morale boosting victory at home, president Rosella Sensi commented on a strange incident which saw captain Francesco Totti sent off alongside Lecce’s Ruben Olivera.
“It was a good result played with the right attitude,” Sensi declared to RaiRadio.
“Hats off also to our friends Lecce, who played a good game making for entertaining viewing.
The patron was then asked for her take on the refereeing after Francesco Totti was shown red in controversial circumstances.
“The referee? I have no complaints but I cannot understand why Totti was sent off.
“I hope with television evidence he can be cleared of any wrongdoing.
“I would be sad for Francesco [Totti] to miss the derby because he is our captain and a reference point. I understand his reaction and given he is usually a calm person I don’t think there was any malice in his outburst.”
