The Flying Donkeys bagged maximum points in Verona as they defeated Cesena 2-1. Bostjan Cesar gave Chievo the lead just after the half-hour mark but Luis Jimenez restored parity for the Seahorses on the stroke of half-time. However, Cyril Thereau popped up with the winner in the dying minutes to propel Chievo to fourth in the table. Steve von Bergen was sent off for the visitors on 88 minutes.

Struggling Genoa boosted their chances of qualifying for Europe next season as they defeated relegation-candidates Catania 1-0 in front of their own supporters. Marco Rossi's 68th minute strike was enough for the Grifone to rise up to the table.

Palermo lost their second game in four days as Udinese won 2-1 in Udine. Medhi Benatia gave the Bianconeri an early lead that was then consolidated on 54 minutes by an Antonio Di Natale penalty. Mauricio Ferreira Pinilla gave Palermo hopes of a comeback with just seven minutes left on the clock but the hosts held on for a hugely significant win in their struggle against relegation.
