Italy striker Giampaolo Pazzini has recalled his experience during the suspended Euro 2012 qualifier against Serbia. The player was hoping for a better experience at his club stadium.
The match was initially delayed due to crowd trouble before being suspended just six minutes into the contest at Marassi.
"It could have been a great night of football in a beautiful stadium full of children and families, we are very sorry," he told Radio Blu.
Inter and Serbia midfielder Dejan Stankovic was emotional during the whole ordeal as the decision to suspend the match was eventually taken by the match official.
"Stankovic? I haven't spoken to him. There was a lot of confusion. We entered and exited the field, it was not clear if we would play or not," he concluded.
