Inter Still Hope To Land Atletico Madrid Forward Diego Forlan In January - Report
Inter will try to land Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid in January after encouraging words from the player's agent.
By Andrew McLean
January is the new date set for Inter to land their August transfer window target Diego Forlan. The Atletico Madrid star became a real possibility after his agent admitted that Italy would definitely interest the Golden Ball winner at the World Cup in South Africa.
"Diego is fine at Atletico but Inter and Italy would be a great interest," the agent was quoted as saying by roma-news.
Forlan, however, would not want to leave the Rojiblancos to play second fiddle to the likes of Diego Milito and Samuel Eto'o, especially if the Madrid side continue their fine run of form.
After watching their Rossoneri rivals accumulate some of the best strikers from around the globe, Inter will find the pressure could be on to do the same early next year.
