Italy international Giampaolo Pazzini has hailed his compatriot and Sampdoria team-mate Antonio Cassano after yet another great performance on Tuesday.
Cassano had rescued the Azzurri on Friday against Estonia away from home in a Euro 2012 qualifier and was also immense against the Faroe Islands in Florence.
The former Roma ace's return to the Italian national team has not gone unnoticed by observers and Pazzini too has joined the list of footballing figures who have lauded Cassano's heroics.
“Cassano has brought joy, creativity and quality to the Azzurri,” enthused Pazzini, according to la Repubblica. “We all want to do well after the burning disappointment of the World Cup in South Africa.
“It’s always a pleasure to come back to Florence. The fans were fantastic, even with me after my years with the Fiorentina jersey."
Looking ahead to Sampdoria's game against Juventus in Serie A at the weekend, Pazzini is expecting a difficult test.
“It is going to be a tough match against Juventus. The fact that it’s against our old boss [Luigi Del Neri] means it will not be a game like any other.”
