Inter defender Maicon may once again be absent this weekend as the Italian champions take on Udinese, according to La Repubblica.
The Brazilian international is still battling a knee injury he picked up in the 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, which caused him to sit out their Serie A opener against Bologna.
Maicon worked separately from his team-mates in training, doing specific exercises.
The medical staff will continue to evaluate his condition, but may not risk him ahead of the club's Champions League Group A opener in the Netherlands against Twente.
His place in the starting XI could be taken by starlet Davide Santon, who finally seems over his knee problems after a long rehabilitation following surgery. However, he is not expected to be able to last a full 90 minutes just yet.
