Despite the errors against Estonia, Salvatore Sirigu still has the support of former Italy captain Dino Zoff...
By Stefano Federici
As he looks to forget a difficult evening in Tallinn despite Italy’s recent win against Estonia, goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has been given a boost of confidence following the recent words of Azzurri legend Dino Zoff.
“A goalkeeper can make the odd error now and again,” Zoff declared to Tuttomercatoweb.
“This however does not put [Salvatore] Sirigu’s quality into doubt; he is still a great goalkeeper.
“Will [Emiliano] Viviano play against the Faroe Islands? I don’t know.
“Glovesman need the chance to confirm themselves between the sticks, but given both played well last season [Cesare] Prandelli might want to give each a chance.”
