Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri has spoken about his side summer transfer campaign, saying he is happy with what occurred on the market.

Del Neri also echoed Giorgio Chiellini's comments about Milan, and challenged Alessandro Del Piero to give his all for the Old Lady.

"Alessandro can give much more. The main thing is that he is healthy," the coach explained to La Gazetta Dello Sport. "I am also pleased with how our transfer campaign went.

"Chiellini is correct, Milan is ahead of us but we can catch up to them and do well."

Del Neri was at pains to stress the club can fight, despite a lack of megastars in the team, but he admitted the Scudetto would be a big ask.

"The club did all it could. We won't have champions in our team, but we have the players that we needed," he added.

"What about champions? It doesn't mean they win you games. Look at Juventus last season. Antonio Di Natale, Marco Borriello and Kakhaber Kaladze rejected Juventus? No. It's a case of different choices. No-one rejected Juve."

Diego slammed the club for the way he was pushed out after being told he would stay. Del Neri responded to the Brazilian's doubts.

"Diego? There were economic needs to sell him. And we have Fabio Quagliarella up front. Plus I have Alessandro Del Piero. He is my Diego."

And the objectives are clear with Del Neri paying attention to the Europa League.

"It's a big objective for us. Looking at the opposition it shows that it's a big competition. As for the league we are aiming for a top-four finish."

Juventus went down 1-0 to Bari in the first match of the Serie A season and will try to rebound from that setback against Sampdoria on September 12.
