Former Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli will take charge of his first competitive game as coach of Italy on Friday, when the Azzurri take on Estonia.

The good news for Prandelli is that it now looks likely the coach will be able to call upon Antonio Cassano, as the Sampdoria striker has overcome a back complaint according La Gazzetta dello Sport. Cassano came through a practice match and, despite looking uneasy, his condition is expected to improve before Friday.

Cassano will take up his role if given the all-clear in a three-pronged attack along with Giampaolo Pazzini and Fabio Quagliarella.
