Lazio president Claudio Lotito believes the Biancocelesti have the potential to secure a top four finish and qualify for next season's Champions League.

The patron feels they have recruited strongly throughout the transfer market, and will evaluate whether to bring in Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz in January.

"The non-arrival of Santa Cruz is not disappointing, as we decided to take some time and await the January transfer market to evaluate whether we need another striker," Lotito told Corriere Dello Sport. "We already have [Mauro] Zarate, [Sergio] Floccari, [Tommaso] Rocchi and [Pasquale] Foggia in that role.

"Also, Hernanes can play in that offensive role, too..."

Lotito went on to explain why the Biancocelesti did not strengthen their defence.

"We have made our acquisitions based on what the coach wanted. In defence, we decided not to intervene, but are already planning our next purchase in that department.

"Now, it will be up to the players and the coach to produce the results on the pitch. The potential is there, and one cannot rule out a Champions League spot at season's end," he concluded.
