According to a report in Tuttosport, Serie A side Lazio have successfully completed contract negotiations with Argentinian midfielder Cristian Ledesma. The playmaker has reportedly signed a contract until 2015 with Lazio.
Ledesma joined the Biancocelesti from Lecce in the summer of 2006 and has since developed into a key player at Lazio. The 27-year-old has made well over 100 official appearances for the Italian side in the past four seasons.
The former Boca Juniors starlet was heavily linked with clubs such as Inter and Juventus in the past couple of weeks, but he has now apparently decided to stay at Lazio after all. He had also looked destined to leave in the winter having not featured for the Biancocelesti in the first half of the season due to a contract row with president Claudio Lotito.
The Romans have yet to confirm the contract extension on their official website, but Ledesma has revealed that he has already signed a new deal.
"I've already inked a new contract. It's like a dream come true for me," was the midfielder's short comment on his own website.
