Report: Fiorentina Want Atalanta's Simone Tiribocchi As Vice-Alberto Gilardino
The Viola need options in attack...
By Adam Scime
Fiorentina will have to do without starlet Stevan Jovetic for the majority of the coming season due to injury and striker Adrian Mutu until late October due to a ban, leaving them short in attack.
Alberto Gilardino remains the lone attacker, with teenager Khouma Babacar the only other repalcement. Thus, the Viola are likely to try to make a mvoe before the end of the transfer market to ensure they are not left light up front.
The Florence-based outfit are now interested in Atalanta veteran Simone Tiribocchi, according to tuttomercatoweb.
The 32-year-old was relegated to Serie B last term, but has a respectable scoring record in the top flight and bagged 11 goals in his last two terms with the Orobici and Lecce.
It is likely that the former Chievo man would like to try his luck in Serie A again with a prestigious club like Fiorentina. Meanwhile, another potential option for Sinisa Mihajlovic's side is Brescia hitman Andrea Carracciolo.
