According to a report in Itasportpress, newly promoted Serie A outfit Brescia are interested in luring creative attacker Alessandro Diamanti back to Italy. The forward currently plays at West Ham, but the Hammers are determined to ease their wage bill and Diamanti, 27, is believed to be one of the players they are willing to sell ahead of the new season.
The Italian striker made 18 league appearances last season, but with the arrival of Frederic Piquionne from Lyon and the possible signing of Nice striker Loic Remy, Diamanti's days at Upton Park look to be numbered.
Greek giants Olympiacos have supposedly shown an interest in the former Livorno playmaker, but it is believed Diamanti would prefer a return to Serie A.
Therefore, Brescia appear to be sitting in pole position to secure the services of the former Livorno star. They have yet to make an official offer for Diamanti, but the Rondinelle are expected to make a move for the attacker in the coming days.
If Brescia fail to sign Diamanti, they could turn their attention to Cagliari striker Jeda.
