The agent of Mauro Camoranesi has lambasted Juventus for showing his client a lack of respect.

Camoranesi has been dropped from the Bianconeri squad to face Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League on Thursday evening, and the player’s representative has criticised the Old Lady’s handling of events.

“He is a professional and deserves more respect,” Sergio Fortunato told Leggo. “He does his duty, works hard in training and is at the complete disposal of the coach.”

There have been reports of discontent in the Juventus support due to Camoranesi’s presence. A banner was displayed reading ‘To those who ought to go but want to stay, we’ll give you a year of hell’, but the agent has wholeheartedly denied that it was aimed towards his client.

“I didn’t read Mauro’s name on that banner. If anything, I sincerely believe the Juventus fans are behind Mauro,” Fortunato continued.

“I don’t know if Camoranesi has been frozen out of the squad, as this is up to the directors and the coach [Luigi Del Neri] to say.

“Of course Mauro would like to play for a club that he has already given so much to.”

Juventus kick-off their competitive campaign on Thursday evening in Ireland at 20:45 CET.
