Much has been said about the proposed transfer of Inter defender Maicon to Real Madrid in the past couple of weeks, but the fact is that the Brazil international is still under contract with the Italian champions.
Antonio Caliendo, Maicon's agent, has now revealed that one of the reasons for the slow progress of the transfer negotiations is that someone is deliberately frustrating the move.
"One of the reasons that this transfer is taking so long is because there's someone out there playing a dirty game. Sooner or later the truth will be revealed and we will know who frustrated the move," said Caliendo, according to AS.
"I can only hope that someone will take a decisive step and this matter will be solved in some way. We all know that Maicon still has a contract with Inter and that president Massimo Moratti will consider an offer that meets his demands.
"I have a very good relationship with Madrid and I can say that they have never said that Inter's financial demands in the transfer of Maicon are excessive."
Inter reportedly want €28 million for the highly rated right-back, but Madrid have so far refused to meet the Nerazzurri's demands or come up with Maicon's desired €7m salary.
