The young attacker has been farmed out on loan to Genoa...Ambitious Serie A side Genoa have completed the transfer of promising attacker Mattia Destro from reigning Italian champions Inter on a temporary basis. A report on the Inter website confirms that the striker has signed a one-year loan deal with the Grifoni.
Genoa were eager to add some more depth to their squad ahead of the new season and coach Gian Piero Gasperini has now gotten his desired reinforcements up front.
The 19-year-old Destro is a product of the Inter youth academy and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting Italian youngsters around. The forward made his debut for the Nerazzurri senior side in the Serie A match against Livorno last term.
However, Destro faced stiff competition for a spot in Inter's first team and wasn't likely to get much playing time in the 2010-11 campaign. Therefore, the Nerazzurri have opted to farm him out on loan in order to gain valuable first team experience.
The forward is currently playing at the under-19 European Championships with Italy. The young Azzurri were beaten 2-0 by Portugal in their opener.
