Inter veteran Javier Zanetti has claimed the Italian Serie A is a difficult competition to win because of the quality of the teams involved.
The Nerazzurri have won five Scudetti on the trot, including the won awarded to them in 2006 as a result of Calciopoli, but the Argentine skipper is certain that the teams are becoming more and more difficult to face.
"The Italian league, I think, is at a higher average level than before," he was quoted as saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Beyond the great history, it's never easy to defeat defeat teams like Fiorentina, the same with Sampdoria."
The 36-year-old will be playing in his 16th season with Inter and has made 700 appearances for the club during his career. He was an integral part of their treble winning side in 2009-10.
