Roma coach Claudio Ranieri was in good spirits in his pre-match press conference as his Giallorossi side prepare to take on Atalanta tomorrow.
"Two years ago, [Roma] arrived just behind Inter in the last couple of games. This year we have been in hot pursuit for some time. They can feel our breath on their necks and we must try to bite them," he announced to Il Corriere dello Sport.
"It will be a race that will go on until the end of the season between us, them and Milan. It's better to think about ourselves and how to take on Atalanta, a very difficult squad.
"They are a team that are playing well and will come to the Olimpico with the objective of picking up points."
Mirko Vucinic is currently one yellow card away from picking up a suspension, and should he be booked against the Orobici he will miss next Sunday's derby with Lazio. However, this is not a concern for Ranieri.
"I will send the best Roma out onto the pitch, without thinking about who is risking a yellow card. I am looking at the game I have in front of me and I see Atalanta, not Lazio."
