Roma forward Luca Toni admits the Lupi are back in the thick of the Serie A title race after a 4-2 defeat of Udinese at the Olimpico.

Claudio Ranieri’s men were made to work hard for their victory, but are now just four points behind leaders Inter and a smiling Toni, who netted the opener last night, said to Sky Sport Italia: “We are there now and have re-opened the title race. Let’s win them all and then we’ll see what happens.

“It was not easy because Udinese are a team who play well and were on form after a good win over Palermo.

“We knew they could have made things difficult for us. But we did well in hitting back after they had equalised and netted two goals to see off the match.”

Roma visit Bologna on Wednesday night before hosting Inter in a Scudetto six-pointer next Saturday.
