Napoli Star Fabio Quagliarella Desperate To End Goal Drought
‘Quaglia’ is trying everything to rediscover his scoring touch…
By Vince Masiello
The Italian international last found the net in a 2-0 win away to Atalanta on January 6 and now fears that his place in the Italy squad for this summer’s World Cup finals is in jeopardy.
“A goal with the Napoli shirt is always a goal with the Napoli shirt,” Quagliarella, who is known to be a fervent supporter of his hometown club, told Le Iene.
“I am crazy for this team and I want to resume scoring goals so that I will go to the World Cup. I’d like not to have any holidays this year.”
Quagliarella will be hoping to end his dry spell when Fiorentina visit the San Paolo tomorrow night and could be boosted by Walter Mazzarri’s decision to hand him the captain’s armband in the absence of centre-backs Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Grava.
