Roma striker Luca Toni returned to action last weekend against AC Milan as a substitute after a six-week injury lay-off.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the former Palermo man looks to be completely over his injury troubles and scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over the Primavera side in training on Friday.

The 32-year-old is now expected to be in the starting XI alongside Mirko Vucinic on Sunday against struggling Livorno.

Despite being left out of the first team at Bayern Munich on a regular basis, the lanky goal-scorer climbed to 91st place in the Castrol Rankings after a promising start to his Giallorossi career in January before succumbing to injury.
