OFFICIAL: Edoardo Reja Named As Lazio Boss
The Aquile have formally sacked Davide Ballardini and the ex-Napoli boss takes over at the Olimpico.
By Vince Masiello
Ballardini had only arrived in the Eternal City last summer and led the Biancocelesti to Italian Super Cup glory in August.
But he has proved unable to halt the team’s freefall in Serie A and president Claudio Lotito has decided to part company with the 46-year-old after a 1-0 home defeat to Catania last weekend plunged the side into the drop zone.
Reja severed his ties with Hajduk Split last night in order to take charge of the Olimpico outfit. The 64-year-old had been at the helm of the Croatian outfit since last summer after his four-year spell in charge of Napoli came to an end last March. He led the Partenopei back into the top flight from Serie C1 during his time in Campania.
