Roma star striker Mirko Vucinic is a major doubt for Saturday’s Serie A home clash with Palermo after suffering a thigh injury last weekend, according to Romanews.eu.
The Giallorossi defeated Fiorentina 1-0 at the Franchi thanks to a late effort from the 26-year-old, but he took a knock to his right thigh which is still causing him pain in the rectus femoris muscle.
The ex-Lecce man sat out yesterday’s training session at Trigoria and will undergo fresh medical tests at the Gemelli Hospital today to have a clearer picture of the damage he sustained.
Should Vucinic be ruled out for the Rosanero’s visit, Claudio Ranieri might again be forced to speed up captain Francesco Totti’s comeback from injury.
‘Er Pupone’ played from the start in Tuscany but came off at half time as he is still short of match-fitness following a lengthy lay-off.
