Player Ratings: Inter 3-0 Cagliari
The Nerazzurri continued their assault on the Scudetto by defeating Allegri's men. Goal.com rates the participants...
By Adam Scime
Julio Cesar- 7: Had little to do overall, but made a miraculous save on Nene in the first-half.
Maicon- 7.5: Brilliant down the right for most of the match, he always drove forward and his crosses were always a danger, as he showed on the second goal from the corner.
Cordoba- 6.5: Made a great last ditch tackle to deny Matri and a few crucial interceptions. Cagliari did cause him a few problems in the latter part of the first-half though.
Samuel- 7: Rose well to head home a corner and was relatively unfazed for most of the afternoon.
Santon- 6: Showed some nice control to get out of sticky situations under pressure, even if he did make a couple of errors, including on Matri's disallowed goal. Overall, a positive showing.
Zanetti- 7: Deserves great credit for the first goal as he ran half the length of the field after six minutes.
Cambiasso- 6.5: Well positioned in front of the defence and did his job winning balls in midfield, without being spectacular.
Thiago Motta- 5.5: Often tried to do too much in possession and gave away the ball a few too many times for Mourinho's liking.
Pandev- 8: A man of the match performance for the Macedonian, who was impressive in support of the strikers in the absence of Sneijder. Showed composure to score the first goal and also put Milito through to score the third.
Milito- 7: Held up the ball for the oncoming Zanetti on the first goal, and then was frustrated until the 47th minute, when he showed he is a clinical striker by holding off the defence and slotting past Agazzi.
Eto'o- 6: A bit rusty on his return from the African Cup of Nations, but his pace still caused a few problems.
Substitutes
Muntari- 5.5: Did alot of chasing after coming on, but made some poor choices with the ball at his feet.
Mariga- 6: Came on to shore up the midfield.
Balotelli- 6: Carved out come good chances in limited time on the field.
CAGLIARI
Agazzi- 5: The Serie A debutant was given a baptism of fire and was a bit hesitant to come off his line, as he showed on the second goal when Samuel headed in from the corner.
Dessena- 5: Struggled to contain whoever was on his side, whether it be Eto'o, Santon, or Pandev. Also was shrugged off by Milito on the third goal.
Canini- 5.5: Not bad in the air, but had problems when Inter pressed forward.
Astori- 6.5: His well-timed challenges were a feature of the match. Denied a tap in for Milito, but the match was already finished by that point.
Agostini- 5: Completely nullified by Maicon in the first-half as the Brazilian made the flank his own. He failed to deal with the pressure.
Biondini- 4: Completely outworked by Cambiasso and Zanetti in midfield, it was no surprise when the red-haired Italian made way in the 55th minute.
Conti- 6.5: Showed much more desire than a lot of his team-mates and tried to equalise with some long range shots on goal.
Lazzari- 5.5: Burned by Zanetti on the first goal and wasted crosses and shots from some good positions. He will be disappointed after being a protagonist in recent matches.
Jeda- 5: Made some darting runs forward in support of the strikers, but overall he only had a few flashes of impact on the proceedings at the San Siro.
Nene- 6: Caused a few headaches for the Nerazzurri backline and saw his volley miraculously blocked by Julio Cesar.
Matri- 6.5: The striker was unlucky to see his first-half goal disallowed when the score was 2-0 and also created a couple more chances with some nice footwork. However, he often failed to get his shots on target.
Substitutes
Barone- 5: Fared little better than Biondini, the man he replaced.
Larrivey- 5: The player did not manage to offer any further offensive threat for the visiting side.
