The agent of Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu claims the Romanian's career will be finished if he receives a ban following news that he has failed a second doping test.
The Italian Olympic Committee confirmed on Thursday that the Viola hitman failed an anti-doping test on January 10. Traces of the banned substance Sibutramine were found in the test.
Reports claim the repercussions could be heavy for Mutu, with suggestions he could be banned for anything between one and four years.
With such a possibility, Gigi Becali, the player's agent, claims this could be the end of Mutu's career.
"If the result is confirmed then Adrian can wave goodbye to his career," the agent told Romanian Channel GspTV.
The very latest news from Florence is that Mutu interrupted his afternoon training session and was escorted off the pitch and into the changing rooms by the Viola's club doctor and team manager.
Fiorentina have not released a statement.
