Lazio Coach Davide Ballardini: We Had No Choice But To Play The Trident Against Atalanta
The Aquile tactician bemoaned a number of key absentees…
By Stefano Federici
“It is an exaggeration to say that we were unwatchable,” he declared to SkySport shortly after the game.
“I think after the opening 15 minutes Lazio showed themselves to be a team still in health.
“The boys gave maximum effort after the initial setback, and I think the legs may have felt a little resentment from the midweek fixture against Palermo.
“We still need to put right our position in the standings and I hope in the coming weeks we will utilise the transfer window to make the necessary reinforcements in certain areas of the field.
“I chose to use the trident today because of a number of absences including [Cristian] Brocchi and [Aleksandar] Kolarov. We didn’t really have much choice.”
