After having started the new calendar year in winning fashion thanks largely to the contribution of newcomer Sergio Floccari, Lazio coach Davide Ballardini admitted having a few doubts as to the progress made by the club in the winter transfer window.
“I am a little concerned,” he declared to Lazialita.it.
“The market is proving to be a tricky one but nevertheless we are in such a condition that changes must be made. I am aware that the club is doing its utmost and I hope to have further news in the coming days.”
With Aleksandar Kolarov hot on the wishlist of a number of Serie A clubs, the coach then commented on the Serbian’s current contribution as he continues to play in an unusual midfield role.
“The boy is doing extremely well right now even as a midfielder. However, we were always aware of his quality.
“Kolarov is now becoming aware that he can also play in the middle of the park, because he has the right physical attributes and I see no reason as to why he should be restricted to one position.”
