thumbnail Hello,

The Curva Sud will be empty against Roma...

Juventus will be lacking a large degree of support when Roma visit the Stadio Olimpico next week as the Lega Calcio have ordered the club to close a section of the stadium for that game as punishment for racist behaviour.

The sports judge Giampaolo Tosel has decided that imposing a fine on the club was not appropriate and instead has issued a heavy stadium ban as he closes the famous Curva Sud - the Bianconeri ultras' natural habitat during home games.

A statement on the Lega Calcio's official website reads:

"During the interval between Juventus and Napoli, fans in the section named Curva-Sud hurled racial discrimination at a player who is currently playing for another club.

"The judge took into consideration the repeated offending and has decided to sanction the club by imposing a banning order on the section of the stadium named Curva-Sud."

Juve had been warned by the authorities following the 3-0 loss to Milan last Sunday. On Tuesday the club was fined €40,000 for crowd trouble in relation to that game.
