thumbnail Hello,

‘Mancio’ has revealed he had advised the Nerazzurri to swoop for the Slovak ace during his time at Brescia.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has again spoken of his admiration for Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik, and launched a veiled attack on his former club Inter, who apparently ignored his transfer tips.

“When I was the Inter coach, I had requested to sign [Fabiano] Santacroce, [Daniele] Mannini and Hamsik from Brescia,” the tactician told

“I would have signed all three of them and I would particularly have loved to have the Slovak at my disposal.”

Napoli eventually signed the trio (Mannini is currently at Sampdoria on a co-ownership basis) and Hamsik has lived up to his billing at the San Paolo.

The 22-year-old has showed great tactical versatility, outstanding technical qualities and an amazing knack for goals, quickly becoming one of the most sought-after midfielders across Europe.

And Mancini may be thinking about luring ‘Marekiaro’ to Eastlands in the not too distant future.

“I am not surprised that the biggest European sides are interested in Hamsik as he is a real talent,” he concluded.

Hamsik is tied to the Partenopei until June 2014 and president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted he will not be leaving the San Paolo any time soon.
