Juventus midfielder Tiago is in Madrid, preparing to sign a loan deal with Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

The Portuguese international will undergo his medical examination on Friday, and if all goes well, the 28-year-old could sign by Friday afternoon.

He will leave the Bianconeri and join the Colchoneros on a six-month loan spell, with the Spanish outfit having the option of purchasing the player outright at the end of the season.

Tiago has only appeared in nine matches during the current campaign, and is not a preferred midfield option for coach Ciro Ferrara, with Felipe Melo and Mohamed Sissoko ahead of him in the pecking order.
