CAGLIARI

Marchetti - 6:
Could do nothing on both goals that went past him, and largely did what could be expected of him.

Canini - 6:
Was reasonably solid down his side, as most of Roma's attacks originated from the other flank.

Lopez - 7: Competitive as ever, the veteran stopper went close early on with a header and scored the goal that began the stunning late comeback.

Astori - 6: Was having a good game until he was completely outfoxed for Roma's second goal.

Agostini - 5: A very bad day at the office for Agostini. The left back conceded the penalty, and struggled all match.

Biondini - 6: Lots of quantity in midfield as always, but not as much quality as Cagliari needed.

Conti - 7.5: Fine and decisive performance from the son of Roma legend Bruno Conti. Won the ball before the first goal and scored the last gasp equaliser.

Lazzari - 7: Excellent in the first half where he twice almost scored. Definitely has the potential to be an excellent player, but he disappeared somewhat as the game wore on.

Cossu - 7.5: Excellent game from the little pocket genius, who was dangerous every time he touched the ball and twice threatened to score.

Matri - 7: His scoring run came to an end, but his level of performance stayed high. If he can stop chasing the women off the pitch, he can become a fine player.

Nene - 6: Held the ball up reasonably well, but some of his layoffs were clumsy and he didn't make as much of an impact today as in previous games.

Subs

Larrivey - 7.5:
The transfer flop made a real impact after coming on, hitting the bar and providing the assist for Conti's equaliser.

ROMA

Julio Sergio - 7:
May have conceded twice in injury time but was excellent before that, producing fine saves from Lopez, Lazzari and Cossu.

Cassetti - 5.5:
Was having a steady game until he lost the ball before Lopez's goal.

Juan - 6.5: Was flawless almost the entire match, and will be wondering just how two goals went past him today.

Burdisso - 6: Has started his Roma career well, but had a few problems today against Lazzari and Cossu.

Riise - 6: Not a headline maker this afternoon, but made no mistakes either.

Pizarro - 7.5: The Chilean has been Roma's best player this season, and he was again a key man today. Scored the opener from the spot..

De Rossi - 6.5: The mask-wearing midfielder played in second gear for most of the game, and didn't want to over-exert himself given his condition.

Taddei - 7: Some classy touches in the final third, and he supplied the pass for Perrotta's goal.

Perrotta - 7: Has been enjoying something of a renaissance in recent months. Scored in the second half, went close in the second, and was full of energy.

Baptista - 6.5: Handed a rare start, and although he went missing at times he twice fired dangerous shots just over.

Vucinic - 7: After a disappointing first half, Vucinic woke up. The striker won the penalty and linked up well with his team-mates for the remainder of the game.

Subs

Menez - 5.5:
Poor after coming on.

Toni - 5
: Was on the pitch for just 16 minutes, had no shots, and touched the ball three times, only one of them reaching a team-mate.

GOOOOOOOOOOAL MILANOOOO!

And that takes it to 3-0 Milan! Robinho makes full use of a slip from Vermaelen on the edge of the area, utilising the space to good effect, lashing home to... dare I say it... put this clash beyond doubt.

Great finish from the Brazilian!

Meanwhile, deputy editor Carlo Garganese had this to say:

"There has only been one team in this game so far. Milan have been utterly dominant in every department.

"Thiago Silva has snuffed out Robin van Persie, van Bommel & Nocerino have bossed the midfield, while Ibrahimovic, Robinho and Boateng have caused problems every time they have touched the ball.

"Arsenal are lucky to only be 2-0 down, defensively they are all over the place - they are pushing up when they should be holding, going narrow when they should be cutting out Abate and Antonini on the flanks, and generally getting everything wrong tactically.

"Ibrahimovic in particular is toying with the Arsenal team, with opponents bouncing off him. He created Robinho's goal beautifully, and could have had two more assists for Boateng and Antonini. Finally Ibra has shown up! Great first half for Milan."

8:38 PM GMT
"The only disappointment for Milan at half-time is that they are not more than two up," Kris conintues.

"Ibrahimovic is running the show, and the Arsenal back four are just letting him get on with it. Arsene Wenger has to turn to drastic measures now if his side are to have any hope of remaining in this tie.

"One goal for the Gunners could give them a great chance going back to the Emirates, but on what we've seen so far it looks unlikely that they'll stop more going back Wojciech Szczesny, let alone grab one at the other end."
8:36 PM GMT
It's half time at the Giuseppe Meazza, and Milan are well and truly running the show at this point. With the hosts 2-0 up and dictating the pace, we asked Italy editor Kris Voakes what he has made of the first 45 minutes:

"This tie could be over before we know it.

"Arsenal have played like a team given no tactical guidance at all.

"They've been square at the back - playing into Ibrahimovic's hands, slow in possession - giving the home midfield time to retreat and slide across, and clueless in the final third.

"It is Milan playing with all the energy and getting the due rewards as a result."
