Cagliari 2-2 Roma: Islanders Score Twice In Injury Time To Stun Roma
Roma's stunned at the death...
Two goals in injury time from Diego Lopez and Daniele Conti stunned Roma as Cagliari fought back to earn a dramatic 2-2 draw in Sardinia.
Roma had led through second half goals from David Pizarro (penalty) and Simone Perrotta, and were strolling to victory before the late turnaround.
The Giallorossi had been moving up the table steadily, but they were without Francesco Totti, Philippe Mexes, Max Tonetto and Stefano Chuka Okaka for the trip to the Stadio Sant'Elia. Luca Toni was on the bench following his loan move from Bayern Munich. Cagliari were missing Francesco Pisano, as Nene partnerred Alessandro Matri in attack.
Cagliari threatened first as Julio Sergio had to be sharp to push out Diego Lopez's header from a corner.
On 21 minutes, the home side were desperately close to taking the lead as Andrea Lazzari skinned Nicolas Burdisso before scuffing just wide.
Simone Perrotta was the first to cause problems down the other end as his angled drive was not too far away from Federico Marchetti's far post.
Julio Baptista, in possibly his last game in a Roma shirt, showed nice footwork before lashing over the bar as the visitors started to settle.
On 34 minutes, Lazzari was again extremely close to scoring as he unleashed a firecracker from 30 yards that Julio Sergio brilliantly turned around the post. The Brazilian came to his team's rescue again minutes later as he punched away Andrea Cossu's curler.
Roma's best chance of the first half arrived three minutes before the break as the ball broke to Baptista who fired just over on the edge of the box.

Into the second half, and Matri immediately tried to catch Julio Sergio out at his near post.
But on 50 minutes Cagliari shot themselves in the foot as Alessandro Agostini clumsily took down Mirko Vucinic in the penalty area. David Pizarro, who had required lengthy treatment at the start of the period for a head injury, made no mistake from the spot - sending Marchetti the wrong way.
After falling behind, Cagliari began to up the pressure and Matri was inches away from sliding the ball in at the back post.
But on 65 minutes they were hit with a sucker punch as a fine team move ended with Perrotta sweeping the ball into the bottom corner.
Cagliari didn't give up and Cossu latched onto a delightful Matri chipped pass to hook the ball just over.
Toni was introduced for his Roma debut for the final 10 minutes, his first Serie A appearance since 2007. Immediately after Cagliari substitute Joaquin Larrivey clipped the bar with a superb volley.
Roma seemed to be strolling to victory but right on 90 minutes, Diego Lopez offered Cagliari hope by hooking home from eight yards.
Incredibly three minutes into stoppage time Cagliari scored again to earn a 2-2 draw. Julio Sergio saved from Larrivey, but Daniele Conti was on hand to turn the loose ball home.

Here's the thoughts of Benfica coach Jorge Jesus, who felt his side deserved a point from the game.
"They were the better team on the night and that's the story of the day.
"We have to keep fighting, pick ourselves up, get the confidence back and challenge in the other competitions and in the second leg of this tie too.
"They punished us on every occasion; they scored some quality goals and they deserved to win."

“The score made it look like it was an easy game, but it certainly wasn't.
(Strange... it looked pretty easy from where I was sitting, but hey.)
“I do not think it's over yet. I remember a clash between Milan and Deportivo la Coruna when Milan was also ahead by four goals, and in the end Deportivo eliminated Milan.
“I went into the Arsenal dressing room after the match to speak to Robin van Persie. I had agreed with him to swap shirts – my sons are big fans of his and he brought two for them. They will be delighted.
Van Bommel went on to talk about a possible move to PSV in the future, but was quick to point out his terms for the move.
“I've spoken with PSV, but we don't have an agreement yet. The club has to decide what they want.
“If Louis van Gaal turns out to be the new coach, I won't go.”
"Tonight everything went in the right direction and we did a very good match. You don't start a match thinking to win 4-0, but at the end i think we deserved it coz we played very well."
