Report: Parma-Juventus & Sampdoria-Palermo Could Be Postponed

Two Serie A matches are again at risk of being snowed off this afternoon…

According to La Stampa newspaper, today’s Serie A games between Parma and Juventus at the Tardini and between Sampdoria and Palermo at the Marassi could be postponed due to heavy snow.

Both Parma and Genova have been hit by severe snowfalls since yesterday afternoon and there could be a repeat of what happened on the final matchday of 2009 when four encounters were cancelled.

Ten centimetres of snow covered the Tardini turf last night and there are also fears over crowd safety because of the icy conditions around the ground.

There is a similar situation in Liguria where temperatures are hovering around zero and Marassi groundskeepers have been on duty since 7:00 CET this morning to remove snow and ice from the playing surface.
