Inter Leading Race For Bari Defender Andrea Ranocchia - Report
The Nerazzurri are in pole position to land the Genoa-owned man.
The 21-year-old has earned attention from a number of clubs across Europe in the early stages of this season after impressive displays for Serie A newcomers Bari, where he is on loan from Genoa.
The Ligurians bought the full rights to the Italy Under-21 man from Serie B outfit Arezzo last summer, but opted to leave him at the San Nicola for a further year after Ranocchia proved instrumental in helping Bari back into the top flight last term.
It is suggested that Inter president Massimo Moratti has given the green light to the swoop in a bid to reinforce Jose Mourinho’s ageing back-line for the 2010-11 campaign.
Juventus and Manchester United have also shown some interest in Ranocchia, who has formed one of the best defensive partnerships in Serie A this season with former Inter man Leonardo Bonucci.
