Ambitious Serie A outfit Napoli are interested in signing highly rated Corinthians youngster Boquita in the January transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Partenopei are believed to be keen to add another midfielder to their ranks in January and the 19-year-old Boquita is alleged to be their prime target on the transfer market.

The young playmaker was part of the Brazil squad that made it to the final at the Under-20 World Championships in Egypt back in 2009 and has since been linked with a move to Europe.

Napoli face stiff competition in the race for Boquita's signature, as Palermo are also believed to be interested in signing the hot prospect. The Sicilians are looking for a long-term replacement for Fabio Simplicio.
