Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli believes that new Roma signing Luca Toni will be a champion for his new team.

The 32-year-old hitman wanted to return to Italy, after an up-and-down period at Bayern Munich, and the Viola boss is pleased that his former player was able to find a new home in the Eternal City.

"It was Toni' dream to return to Italy and play," Prandelli stated to Corriere Dello Sport. "He was able to, and now Roma has another champion on it's list."

Under Prandelli, Toni scored 49 goals in two seasons, including 31 in the 2005-06 season.

Toni will play his first match for the Giallorossi on January 6 against Cagliari should he be selected.
