Chievo Coach Domenico Di Carlo Disappointed Inter's Samuel Eto'o Will Miss Clash
Eto'o will be playing for his country in the African Cup of Nations...
Chievo tactician Domenico Di Carlo admits that his side are refreshed and raring to go against Inter, and will want to get a positive result at home.
But Di Carlo also wanted Nerazzurri striker Samuel Eto'o to be selected, so that his players got the opportunity to play on the park with a true champion.
"[Inter coach Jose] Mourinho and his troops will find a solid and ready Chievo outfit," Di Carlo said to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. "It is a shame that Eto'o is missing.
"It is always a good thing to play against champions of his calibre.
"We are in a strong position to get a positive result, and this was demonstrated by the 2-2 draw we had with them in 2009."
The early kick-off time [1230 CET] reminds the boss of his younger days, as a youth player.
"Playing at 12:30 is a little inconvenient, but good," he added. "It reminds me of being a child or teenager, when we would play our matches in the morning."
Eto' is currently on international duties with Cameroon, in the African Cup of Nations.
