Paolo Cannavaro: I Want To Be At Napoli For Life

The captain hopes to see out his playing days at the San Paolo and lead the Azzurri into Europe in 2010.

Napoli defender Paolo Cannavaro has admitted his love for the Azzurri is still intact and he plans to commit to a new deal over the coming months.

“You all know what my wish is,” the captain said during a press conference at Castel Volturno.

“I’d like to play here, in my hometown, for many more years. My wish is the same one I had in my heart when I chose to come to Naples.

“I really care for these colours and I hope to meet with the club soon. I’d like for my future to be Azzurro like the shirt I love.”

Napoli have climbed into sixth place in Serie A after a poor start to the campaign and Cannavaro claimed European qualification is not a far-fetched dream now.

“It would be fantastic,” he smiled.

“After managing it via the Intertoto Cup two seasons ago, we now would like to get there through the main door.”
