Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli: Napoli Will Not Sell Marek Hamsik

Gigli has all but given up hope of landing the Slovakian star, but he has made no secret of his penchant for him...
Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli admits the club are keen on Napoli ace Marek Hamsik, but he is well aware that the Azzurri are in no mood to trade.

The Bianconeri have been making plans to strengthen their midfield for next season. Werder Bremen's Diego seems the first in line to come in and replace Pavel Nedved. However, the Old Lady have kept her eye on the Partenopei's talented midfield dynamo over the course of the season.

Hamsik would represent an intelligent transfer scoop for Juventus, but Gigli has underlined the difficulties of luring him to Turin.

"I have always respected [Napoli president] Aurelio De Laurentiis and I will continue to do so," Gigli told Il Roma.

"It's no secret that we admire Hamsik, however, if Napoli don't want to sell him then we respect that. I don't really want to say anything else on this because it could be exploited by the media."

Napoli have always been resistant to attempts from Serie A's big clubs regarding moves for their stars. De Laurentiis has always made it clear that he will not willingly sell his jewels.
