Chelsea Continue To Press For Sampdoria Striker Giampaolo Pazzini - Report
Italian reports claim the Blues have not abandoned their chase for 'Pazzo'...
Chelsea are finalising plans for activity during the January transfer window, and look likely to make Sampdoria's Giampaolo Pazzini one of their leading targets.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Carlo Ancelotti is working behind the scenes to spark negotiations with the Blucerchiati into life. Talk of a move for Pazzini to Chelsea has been floating around the press for quite some time, but there has been little development until now.
The report claims Ancelotti is keen to bolster his side after seeing them narrowly beat Fulham in the west London derby on Monday afternoon. The Blues struggled to beat their neighbours, despite the presence of Didier Drogba, who will be away during January as he takes part in the African Cup of Nations. Despite Nicolas Anelka's avaliability, the Italian coach is likely to take some action on the transfer scene.
It is said the two clubs could use the January period to arrange a summer move for Pazzini if a winter move can't be agreed. It is reported that Samp are asking for nothing less than €25 million for their leading goalscorer.
