Sampdoria coach Luigi Del Neri couldn't be more pleased with how 2009 turned out for him.

Having had a positive result with Atalanta, and joining the Blucerchiati over the summer, Del Neri has established himself as one of the great coaches in the league.

"I beat Inter twice and have launched many young, talented players," Del Neri told Sportal.

"Here in Genova, there is a lot of enthusiasm.

"The best thing is that I am being appreciated for the work that I am putting in."

Del Neri also responded to questions about enigmatic striker Antonio Cassano, and the rumours that Fantantonio is unhappy.

"Cassano? He plays football and is having fun," the boss added. "We want him to always improve, both as a footballer and a human being."
