Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo has reflected upon 2009, hailing Brazil coach Carlos Dunga and Fiorentina tactician Cesare Prandelli, but there was no mention for Ciro Ferrara.

Melo has not endured the best of times at Juventus. He has failed to forge a winning bond in midfield, with the critics taking aim at him after the Bianconeri's black December. Nevertheless, he feels the year has been rewarding thanks to two men - and neither are at Juve.

"I am very grateful to Prandelli and Dunga as they believed in my potential. These are men who are winners by nature," Melo told ESPN Brazil.

"I was surprised when Dunga called me to play against Italy [in February]. I knew it was my chance and I grasped it with all my strength. It has been a good year in terms of my career."
