Agent Hints That Luca Toni Could Sign For Roma Today
The striker’s representative failed to quell rumours that his client is set to put pen to paper.
The representative of Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has all but confirmed press reports that the Italy international will sign on the dotted line today to join Serie A side Roma until the end of the season.
“I am really busy today, try to understand…” agent Tullio Tinti admitted to Romagiallorossa.com.
“I can’t confirm nor deny this story, but today is a particular day.”
Toni is expected to arrive in the Eternal City on loan until June after Bayern agreed to release him on a free transfer following the 32-year-old's fall out with boss Louis van Gaal.
Premier League side Chelsea reportedly tried to hijack the transfer at the 11th hour, but the ex-Fiorentina man insisted yesterday that Roma remained his first choice and the move is likely to be made official by the end of the week.
